I do love Disneyland. The Disneyland of today and the Disneyland of "then". All of us here at the blog frequented Disneyland as children more than any other park. I really feel that pretty much everything built at Disneyland up through the end of the 80s was fantastic. Things like this and this weren't added until the early 90s. Tomorrowland '67 was more or less still in tact. And even when they tinkered with the greatest Tomorrowland ever, the changes (like Americas Sings) and the additions (like Space Mountain) were great. Though there have been oh so many changes, there still can be found so much old architecture and other elements of the early years.

Disneyland is incredible, but still sad to see two all-time favorite attractions bite the dust: Peoplemover & Skyway.
Thanks Matt! Yeah, Tomorrowland really is in a depressing state. I can hardly wait for the day Peoplemover is restored and a decent attraction exists the the carousel theater. I'm sure Skyway will never see its way back into the park, sadly.
Ok. This is *slighty* less depressing than some of the Epcot and Magic Kingdom "then and now" posts. Like you said a lot of the old stuff can still be spotted. Even if most of it is surrounded by clutter. Great post.
Observation: Everyone cries when trees are removed in the parks. Example being the MK hub and Main Street to allow for better fireworks viewing. But in all these great "THEN AND NOW" posts the "then" photos with smaller or less vegetation allow for much better views. The great architecture and other scenery is less obstructed and looks great. (Jungle Cruise being the exception, I'd say).
These posts are proof to me that though lush vegetation is great where it works, trimmed plant life is better than abundant clusters of architecture-blocking plants.
I will say this... The plant issue is minor compared to the clutter issue. Thanks for the comparisons. Very fun to look at.

Honestly, if only they would rip out the ugly orbitron (no one rides it anyway) and reinstate the people mover, and put literally ANYTHING in place of innoventions, Tomorrowland could make me happy once more

Kudos in finding the then photos. Disneyland has really evolved from a simple to a majestic theme park. Nice post.

I'll be honest, the buildings themselves never change. Well except for that stupid hunk of Golden-Yuck in Tomorrowland.
This has been something I have wanted to do for years! You have some great pictures, just one mistake. The soda fountain has been moved around a bit, in 1997 they closed Carnation Cafe made that space and part of the old penny arcade into Blue Ribbon Bakery and Gibson Girl, then found a way to shoe horn in the smaller Carnation Cafe we know today. The fountain was moved from where it was facing south more of where the ovens are for the bakery to now facing east in the ice cream shop (my mind can see it but not 100% sure). With the impending changes to the bakery/cafe who knows where it might end up next?
