Upcoming Concept: Sword in the Stone Dark Ride

I've been spending my Christmas break watching and pausing my favorite childhood animated feature, The Sword in the Stone. And since childhood I've wanted the film to have more of a theme park presence... in ride form of course.
In an upcoming post I plan to state my case for why a Sword in the Stone Fantasyland dark ride WOULD be successful and why it WILL NEVER be built. I'm not one to believe that box office numbers dictate the popularity of a ride based on the same film. Nor do I believe an "old, outdated, forgotten" film cannot make a great ride and remain popular. Look at: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Splash Mountain, Alice in Wonderland, etc. More thoughts to come. This idea is of course not going to win the award for original concept for it is based on an already-existing creative work, but it will be fun to think about.

Wonderful post! And I agree that this movie would make an excellent dark ride.
I longed for a Sword in the Stone attraction all through my formative years, and still think about it often. I can't wait to see your thoughts!

Let me know of any help you might need or want in this endeavor. This was one of my two favorite animated films growing up as well. My daughter says I look like a dork in my new glasses, so I'm prepped and ready to go.
personaly I'd be all for a SITS Dark ride especialy since there is all this hoopla over what Fantasyland 2.0 would have for the boys

Great and new ideas will always be embraced by people that are for sure... I think the main reason why theme parts buy to people (not because it has a very popular movie etc) simply because of common interest. You don’t see groups having so much fun if they don't enjoy it together. So my point is bring it on Fritz we are so excited to learn what's on your mind.
Alice is not outdated. Sure people like the new one, but they still watch the old one and know it.
Do you know who or where I can send my idea or concept about a Moana ride? I have it
written and drawn out but looks very unprofessional looking. I kind of draw how the vehicle of the ride would look like, how the story line with some design and stick people would go and semi-describe what would happen. I think it would be fun ride, but I know it's just an idea nothing complete. I just hope this ride could be made impossible and that one day it will be made.
