Imagineering Disney Tumblr Feed

We’d like to introduce our new photo feed on Tumblr. We add a new post to the blog about once a week and we add to our Twitter feed several times a day but we were looking for something in-between.  And we wanted a place to post amazing finds that may or may not be directly related to Disney. Ain't they pretty? Here are more pics from that fantastic 1963 issue of National Geographic. What a time!

Just think... W.E.D (Imagineering) had in recent years given us Tomorrowland '59 (Matterhorn, Submarine Voyage, Monorail, etc.) then Tiki Room. They were working on the 64-65 New York World's Fair attractions (Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, "it's a small world", Carousel of Progress, and Magic Skyway). And right around the corner were Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, and the perfect land if there ever was one, Tomorrowland '67. And we need not forget the Florida Project. What an unprecedented time to be an Imagineer.

Sometimes collections of striking imagery cannot stay hidden in dusty old boxes. We present a new series that offers images that please the eye. Today we present some photos from a 1963 issue of National Geographic magazine. We get a snapsot of what the Disney company was in '63.
